Safety Description:Burns in fluorine or chlorine. Ignites in contact with bromine or iodine when warmed. Violent reaction when ground with metals (e.g., aluminum, iron, lead, mercury); metal salts (e.g., chlorides, iodides, sulfates, nitrates). Incandescent reaction with carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, oxygen + heat, dinitrogen pentaoxide (at 150°C). When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of Na2O. See also ACETYLIDES.
