History PFW is a well-known name in the worldwide fragrance industry. Founded in 1914, it built its first plant and offices in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, and expanded quickly into other countries. In 1973 Hercules Inc. from Wilmington, USA, acquired the company. The site in Amersfoort became too small in the 1980's and in 1984 Hercules approved PFW's plans to build a grass-root plant for aroma chemicals in Barneveld, the Netherlands. At the end of 1996 Hercules sold PFW to Yule Catto & Co plc. Today PFW Aroma Chemicals B.V. is now a successful company in the international fragrance industry. The company focusses on aroma chemical production and toll & contract manufacturing. With lead office and production facilities located in Barneveld in the Netherlands, PFW Aroma Chemicals serves its global customer base. Product range PFW is the world leader for Tonalid?, one of PFW's polycyclic musk product. Next to PCM's, PFW has a selected product range of aroma chemicals and specialties. PFW's products are mainly sold for use in perfume compositions for soap, detergents and household cleaning products, but also find applications in cosmetics, toiletries and fine fragrances with customers all over the world. Of the total production in Barneveld, the Netherlands, more than 90% is exported to about 30 different countries.
